
Robert Delane Maedgen Jr., better known as “Dub,” passed away peacefully at his home in Spring, Texas on October 26, 2022 at the age of 80. He was born on January 7,1942 to Robert Delane Maedgen and Lois Avis (Watts) Maedgen.
Dub graduated from Baylor University and during his years there, he fell in love with Heather Layne Milam. They were married for over fifty years. After serving honorably in the United States Navy, they moved to Spring, Texas. He worked as a Certified Public Accountant and Attorney during his life. Baptized as an Episcopalian in Waco, Texas, Dub served various churches in many roles during his life, ultimately becoming a member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston. He was a gregarious soul with a wonderful sense of humor and a desire to meet people everywhere he went. He loved dancing, opera, and reading, as well as sports of all types. He especially enjoyed playing golf, going hunting, and spending time with his friends and relatives.
Dub is survived by his wife Heather Layne (Milam) Maedgen; their 2 children: Robert Delane Maedgen III, his wife Virginia and their son Theodore of Lookout Mountain, Georgia, and Amy Elizabeth Maedgen of Spring, Texas who has been his constant caregiver during his recent battle with multiple myeloma.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
In accordance with his requests, a private burial service will be held at Houston National Cemetery.
