Cynthia (Cyndy) Carolyn Denny Savage, age 72, of Katy, TX passed away at her home Sunday, September 22, 2019, surrounded by her family.

Cyndy was born July 12, 1947 in Lamar, MO to William Verne and Mary Carolyn Hart Denny, who preceded her in death.  She was the youngest of four children.  She graduated from Liberal High School, Liberal, MO, in 1965 and worked as a hairdresser/stylist before entering the U.S. Navy where she honorably served her country.  She married James Michael (Mike) Savage August 31, 1968 in Iantha, MO, while they were both serving in the U.S. Navy.  Mike preceded her in death on October 29, 1988.  They had two children, Russ Alan and Michelle Renee.

Cyndy was a homemaker while raising their children and lived in several states due to Mike’s employment.  After his death she returned to Missouri and fulfilled a dream and built, opened, and operated Just Like Grandma’s, a successful bed and breakfast, near Branson, MO.  She was involved with the United Methodist Women’s Group.  She loved to cook, read, play games, do craft projects, and travel.

Survivors include a son, Russ Savage of Coconut Creek, FL; a daughter, Michelle and wife Meghan Fairbanks of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Logan French, Ian French, Ben Savage, and Adam Savage; siblings, Joe and wife Loretta Denny, Judy Roehrs, and Bill and wife Donna Denny; and several nieces and nephews.  She also leaves behind a host of friends.

She will be cremated and burial will be next summer in the Iantha Cemetery, Iantha, MO, beside her husband and parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Watercrest of Katy (200 S. Katy Fort Bend Road, across from Katy Mills Mall.) Family recommends colorful attire.
