Thank you, Thank you, Lord, for Dorothy's life.
As a young girl, I met her many years ago in Iowa, our families being long time friends. Our paths crossed as she and Dave lived in Houston and they were the first to welcome us newcomers to their lovely home. What an elegant, beautiful woman she was!!! Her entertaining was exquisite--impeccable.
Soon after that night, she came to visit me and was absolutely horrified when I served her iced tea in a pint-sized Kerr jar with a lid. (It worked for small children who always had spills happened to be my "picnic serving stage.") After many chuckles, she invited me to join P.E.O., deciding there may be hope for me after all, and we shared many good times together--as friends and sisters, but she never got over the Kerr jars!!!!
She added color, design, grace, class, a touch of fiesty, high standards and her love of family to the lives of all who were blessed to know her. She loved life, her sewing, her Dave, her Grace Presbyterian Church and you, Tom, David and her "Lindas." Her grandchildren were her ultimate joy as she treasured every moment, call, visit, card and photo of them.
Her stroke was devastating to her and our sharing turned from lunches out to heartfelt chats in. I miss my friend, but, I am so thankful her to long awaited reunion with David has come to pass.
Our sympathy and love to all of you as you come together to celebrate Dorothy's life.

David & Linda, Tom & Linda,
I was so sorry to hear about Dorothy's passing, yet at the same time thankful that she has joined her beloved Dave in that sweet, sweet place with Jesus. She was such a delight to spend time with and we had some wonderful conversations and a few good laughs. I'm sorry I didn't get back out to see her after I got back on my feet. May God place his hand of comfort on your families and bless you all in the days to come.
Sandi
