In Memory of
Glenn Morris Beck
-

Glenn Morris Beck, 70, of Houston, Texas died Thursday June 28, 2007 in Webster, Texas. He was born on May 3, 1937 in Houston to George Lee Beck and Lela Mae Lowrance Beck. Glenn loved being a volunteer firefighter and served his community faithfully for many years. Although he lacked a formal education during his life that many of us take for granted, he more than made up for it in his spirit and love for others. He is survived by his nephews and nieces: Sam Houston, Norman Houston, Carolyn Burden, Randy Beck, Mary Dillon, Linda Garrett, Joyce Dossey, Pam Budge, and Rickey Beck, as well as many other loving family members and friends. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday July 2, 2007 in the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Service, 13501 Alief Clodine Rd., Houston, Texas 77082. The funeral service will immediately follow at 12 noon, also in the Chapel of Beresford Funeral Service. He will be laid to rest following a graveside service to be held at 2:00 pm the same day at Woodlawn Garden of Memories Cemetery, 1101 Antoine, Houston, Texas. The family would like to invite anyone with special memories of Glenn to feel free to share them here and to sign the online guestbook.

My lil buddy and precious Uncle Glenn Beck will be dearly missed by us and many that had the privilage to have met him.
It was my sincere privilage, to not only to have served as his nephew, but I was so proud to have served as his Legal Guardian for the past 15 years. He called me his daddy...
I will truly miss his big smile and that twinkle in his eye each and every time I was in his presents. I will always treasure the many visits and trips with him to the fire station.I will miss the many dinner dates we had as well. He was truly a friend to all who knew him and he specially loved firemen, paramedics, and policemen.
One of the many talents Glenn had was that he was always the same each and everytime I saw him. Just days before his death he had that twinkle in his eye but this time he seemed to just look thru my face towards the ceiling. I mentioned to my dear wife that the time was drawing near for Glenn. He seemed to be seeing angels in the room preparing to present him to the Lord! I knew Glenn's heart well and could tell that his time on earth was drawing near.
Im so very thankful to the Lord that he was able to make it to his 70th birthday party. He always enjoyed being with his family and many of his nieses and nephews and friends were able to attend.
Glenn will leave a void in our life now that he has left this world.
I know someday we will all meet again and once again see him in the presents of the Lord.
I want to also thank the Beresford Funeral Service for being so king to my wife and I during this time in our life. They have been a great help in prepairing for this funeral and do appreciate the kind words they printed in reguards to Glenn and his passing.

Sincerely,

Sam & Sandra Houston

He would say "dood-nite..see u in mornin"..."U gonna make my breakfasss...."
He was one of a kind and will be missed dearly. See Ya in Heaven Uncle Glenn...... We love you!!!!!

When I first met Glenn back in 1973 at the Lary home, I immediately became very fond of him. His gentle, sweet spirit was so warm and loving. There's no doubt he was a blessing sent from God to all who had the privilege to meet him and even more so to those who really got to know him. I haven't seen Glenn in over 30 years, but I have never forgotten him or the effect he had on me. As I write this in Glenn's honor, I can't help but smile; because that is what I remember the most about him. He always made me smile. Love you Glenn. I know I will see you again.

Glenn came to our organization about 6 years ago. Sambo called me and asked if we would serve Glenn in one of our group homes. People come and go in our "business" and we have a relatively short time with them. During those 6 years, Glenn touched many lives, including staff and other consumers. All you had to do is care for him, meet his few needs and smile with him. Then you had a friend in Glenn. I liked being around him. He liked coming to my (he called me Danny Boy) and wait for me to joke around with him, calling him bulldog. He liked it when I sang, "You ain't nothing but a hounddog" to him. I thank Sambo and Sandra for having faith in us to take care of him for the time that we did. We miss him dearly.

When I first met Glenn, I didnt know that he would be a big part of my life. I was with Glenn everyday at work. We would sit there and talk about all the pretty girls in the books that he looked at daily. We sang " You Are My Sunshine" almost everyday. He brighten my days by his smile and his love for his life. He always had a smile on his face, even if he wasnt feeling well. When he moved to the nursing home, I went to see him and even then he was still smiling. He will always be in my heart. I will never forget about "HOUND DOG". I will miss him a great deal.

Thank you, Uncle Glenn, for all the fun times we shared. I know how much you loved to get a shave and a haircut...how much you loved to listen to music...and how much you loved to mow the grass. I have memories of us sitting on the porch swing and talking when I would go to your house to spend the night. You are such a sweet and gentle spirit. You touched so many lives in so many ways. We all love you, Uncle Glenn...We will all meet again someday. Always...Pam,James,D.C., and Omar
