We knew Millie to be a humble, people loving Child of God. Her warm welcoming smile was a reflection of her deep reverent trust in her Lord. Millie was a passionate student of the Bible and her Christian lifestyle was so inspiring. We love Millie so much and along with family and friends, we are so grateful that Heaven is for Real.

Before I was born Mom, you were a hair stylist and I thank you for the numerous Toni Perms growing up! I was fortunate to have YOU sew and finish perfectly, my Light Foot Brigade uniform, and thanks for introducing me to dance classes at Carla Reeves School of Dance where my 1st Recital was at Jones Hall. Without your help in High School, I don't think I would have "fit in"; you prepared me for the world. You introduced me to the concept of business and I loved going on appointments with you; and learning the value of a relationship with a customer.
I will miss taking you to breakfast and lunch, and our conversations on the phone. Most of all, thank you for teaching me the prayer "Little Angel of Lost and Found, Help Me Find My _____". It worked every time. I hope it works when I need to find you. I love you Mom and I miss you.

Millie shared many stories of her life with us. Our favorite was the one about how The LORD JESUS walked her back and forth to school everyday. Her family had moved outside of town and Millie had to walk alone to and from school. It seemed a long way for a little girl. She prayed and there He was... Faithfully every day, JESUS would take her by the hand and away they would go. Now years later, on May 10th,their walks came to an end when they, hand in hand, walked on to the FATHER'S house... the place she most wanted to BE... forever.

You were the sweetest Grandma a granddaughter could ask for. I remember always going out to lunch with you and you would tell me the best stories. I remember your sloppy wet grandma kisses and big hugs! I remember you to always have a smile on your face no matter what and to make the best of everything. I remember how the little things made you happy. Like getting you a picture album full of family pictures for Christmas or a simple candle. I remember you telling me about how you would go dancing in your teenage years. One night a "Hunk" came and asked you to dance. Dancing was your thing back in the day and dancing with that "Hunk" made you so giddy! I remember how every Christmas you would get my sister and I a doll to play with, in which I still have! I love you Mema, you will be missed!

Aunt Millie, she was my fathers sister. We had only seen each other a handful of times in my life. We lived in different states, she in Texas, me in Illinois. Even with the distance between us I loved our relationship. After my father passed we made it a point to talk on the phone and we really got to know each other well. I LOVED our chats! Sometimes we would laugh so hard we would get tears in our eyes and other times we would cry with stories/memories we would tell each other. I don't think there was ever a call less than a hour and usually 2 hours. I think we both got the "I love to talk gene" I will always cherish those memories and can only imagine Aunt Millie and my father talkin it up in Heaven! Even though I miss Aunt Millie I find great peace and joy in knowing she is home with our Lord.
