James Morgan Lightbody, 72 passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at West Houston Medical Center after complications from colon cancer.
Born August 30, 1945 in New Rochelle, New York to Della and Robert Lightbody. He attended Toms River South and served with pride in the United States Air Force from 1965 until his discharge in 1969.
Jim was an adventurous spirit living in various places from Toms River New Jersey to Houston, Texas working in various jobs and eventually owning his own remodeling business, always embracing opportunities that were offered to him.
Jim was proud of his involvement and dedication to running the Pinewood Estates Mobile Home Park for many years and with his father, Robert Lightbody, starting the Pinewood Estates Volunteer Fire Company and Barnegat First Aid Substation. In addition, he was a volunteer first aid member alongside his first wife and longtime friend, Julie Heveran giving back to his community. Jim’s bragging rights did not end there, he proudly walked alongside his son’s Jim and Justin, and also grandson, James on their journeys to Eagle Scout.
Jim is survived by his wife of 30 years, Maryann Anderson Lightbody, his five children, James David Lightbody and his wife Wanda, Jennifer Lightbody Conley and her husband David, Justin Arthur, Jessica Emily and Jordan Michele Lightbody. Grandchildren, Meaghan Elizabeth, Kelly Taylor, James William, Kristen Paige and Jiya Morgan and three great grandchildren, Luke Michael, Kamden Reese, and Khloe Jayde and his brothers John, William, and George as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Della Lightbody, sister Barbara Jean, and brothers Robert and Roden.
A memorial service is being planned after the holidays. Memorial contributions are welcome and encouraged to the Jabboury Foundation for Cancer Research.

Love you Uncle Turkey, you will be missed dearly. I am sure PopPop, Grandmom, Aunt Barbara, Uncle Bobby, Uncle Roden, Aunt Pat, my mom, and all of our other family members met you at the gates. I know you will be watching over your family and guiding them throughout their lives. Rest In Peace Uncle Jimmy. Until we meet again......
