Lola Casino Hoven

Lola Casino Hoven, 94, passed into eternal life on August 20, 2019.  Born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 20, 1924, the third child of Ada Renzetti Casino and Alfonso Casino.  She grew up in St. Rocco's Parish and graduated from Lincoln High School where she excelled in Latin and Secretarial skills, and loved being a gym leader.

Lola enjoyed playing tennis, singing, dancing, and loved the opera. She also liked to express herself creatively with craft projects and painting.  Lola worked as a medical stenographer at City Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio before marrying her husband of 58 years, Paul Hoven who predeceased her.  She loved all animals, especially Siberian huskies, and along with her husband Paul, established the Great Lakes Siberian Husky Club for dog sled racing.

Lola was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She treasured her Catholic faith and had a special devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, and dedicated herself to wearing the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.  

Beloved mother of Monica Renzetti, Angie Bologna (Jerry), Joanne Hoven Stohs (Mark), David Hoven (Debra), Dan Hoven (Lee Ann), Geralyn Hoven (deceased), Andrea Hoven (deceased), and Lisa Hoven-Besiso (deceased).  Grandmother of David Senich (Melissa), James Senich (Angelica), Michael Senich, Caitlyn Bologna, Drew Bologna, Alex Hoven, Madison Hoven, Grant Hoven, Daniele Judy, Jackson Judy, Kimberly Besiso, and Tiffany Besiso, and great-grandmother of Kennedie, Reagan, Aiden, and Ethan.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, TX.  A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM.  Interment will follow at the Houston National Cemetery.
