In Memory of
Scott McCleskey
-

Scott was born on October 15, 1964 in Midland, Texas as the youngest of 4 boys to Hubert Dean and Mable Virginia McCleskey.

He moved to Houston at an early age, and lived in Westbury across from Hager Park. He attended Andy Anderson, Fondren Middle School, Welch Middle School, and Westbury High School. Scott graduated from Houston Baptist University with a degree in Management and Finance.

On January 1, 1993, Scott married Jennifer and went on to have three children, Nathan, Matthew, and Meagan. He was so proud of each of them and they demonstrate his talents and traits daily.

Scott began working at Westbury National Bank in high school and continued his banking career over a span of more than thirty-three years, most of which was with JP Morgan Chase. Throughout his career, Scott touched the lives of students of all ages. He implemented a banking program at Little Red Schoolhouse, gave banking presentations, and taught Junior Achievement for his own children’s classes at Parker Elementary, and as recently as last year, spoke to a banking class at Westbury High School.

Over time, Scott was a longtime member of the Friends of Westbury High School Foundation and a Toastmaster Champion. One of his favorite memories to recall was his clogging career with the Flatland Express and his clogging performance on the Grand Ole Opry stage.

Scott participated in Boy Scouts alongside his sons from Cubs to Eagles. He devoted countless hours, and dressed as Santa each year. He enjoyed scout and family campouts, especially Dutch oven cooking.

At church, he was the voice from the balcony at our special services, volunteered as head usher, and taught the Special Friends Class.

Scott was project parent; made gingerbread houses every Christmas, decorated the home for every holiday, and shared his passion for cooking and crafting with his daughter.

Scott was best known for his humorous storytelling, his Boudreaux jokes, and his imitations that we called skits. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and his sweet spirit endeared him to many. He never met a stranger and we are going to miss his great smile and larger than life personality.

Above all, Scott loved the Lord and lived his life purposefully as a loving father and husband, and by doing so, leaves the legacy of faith, love and humor to his children and their children to come.
