Daniel Frank Draveski, age 75, of Cypress, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025 with his loving wife by his side.
He was born on June 11, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan to Frank Stanley Draveski and Doloris Ann (Moran) Draveski as the oldest of three children.
Dan graduated from Clawson High School in Clawson, Michigan in 1969 and joined the Air Force in 1970, becoming an Avionic Navigation Systems Specialist. He was stationed at Minot AFB before serving in Thailand. His last assignment was with the 301 AMS under the Strategic Air Command.
After his service to the country, Dan became an electrician, working on large security systems in commercial buildings. In his 30's Dan moved to Houston, Texas. Here, his love of auto racing and cars led to his occupation in the automotive industry. In 1990, he met his beautiful bride-to-be when she came into his office to hang some wallpaper. He offered to take her to lunch and that was the beginning of their love story. They were blessed with a loving family, many good friends, cherished memories and rewards that come from hard work. Early in their marriage, Dan became a distributor for BG Products making top salesman of the year several times. During this time, they built their dream home in Cypress, Texas. For the six years before his death, Dan worked as a manager for an automotive shop.
Dan's hobbies included photography, golf, building and flying RC airplanes, and wood working. He was a perfectionist, and his furniture pieces reflected that. He was a huge NASCAR fan but enjoyed all racing. He liked listening to his favorite music, watching old B&W movies, reading books, and going on cruises with the whole family. He also liked ice cream quite a bit.
Dan loved God, and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
He was a devoted and loving husband to Michelle, who will miss him immensely. Although a stepfather to Heather Biehl, he loved her like his own and was very proud of her as a mother and of all her accomplishments.
His greatest joy in life came from his grandchildren, and they loved him just as much. His 'Papa' dance always entertained them from their toddler days to the present, and he was a talented off-the-cuff storyteller - which usually included little Jack as the main character. Each Sunday afternoon was 'Papa Day' for many years, which the three of them always looked forward to. He joined them at lunch in elementary school and, whenever possible, went to every play, recital, dance, practice or program they were in. He taught them both to drive. Papa and Jack enjoyed playing golf together or just going to the movies. In recent years, Lauren and Papa's favorite past time together was playing board games. It was their own special time full of joking and laughter. His presence in their lives will surely be missed.
Dan is survived by his wife of 34 years, Michelle Diane (Castle) Draveski; his stepdaughter Heather Marie Biehl & husband Jeff: his grandchildren Jack & Lauren and their dog Cooper, (the little furry kid), of Cypress Texas; and younger sister, Diane Rose Draveski of Shelby Township, Michigan.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, David.
As per Dan's wishes, a family graveside service at Houston National Cemetery is planned for on Monday, August 18th, 2025 at 10:15am.

John 3:16-17
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
