In Memory of
Frank E. Hay III
-

Frank E. Hay III was born on March 19th, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut. At the age of 12 his family moved to North Guilford where Frank continued his education. At the age of 18 Frank joined the Army and while serving in Vietnam as a door gunner on a Huey, the chopper was shot down and he was taken prisoner. He, and other prisoners, escaped after around 14 months when the area he was being held at came under attack by U.S. forces.

After his service in the Army, Frank settled in Branford where he was married and had three children. The marriage sadly ended in divorce and his estrangement from his children. In 1997 Frank moved to Houston, Texas where he met and married Marsha Murry.

Frank had spent most of his adult life as a handy-man, working various construction/repair jobs but for the last 10 years he and Marsha ran a medical courier service.

Over the course of his life, Frank developed a deep faith and accepted Jesus as his Savior.

Frank passed away in Hospice care on January 4th, 2025, and is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen Morehead and her three children, one aunt, Martha Uhlan, numerous cousins, and possibly his three children.

Frank and Marsha will be interred at the National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston., TX 77038) on Thursday, February 6, 2024.  Those wishing to attend should line up in lane #2 by the administration building between 12:50p and 1:10pm.  Stay in your cars and the cemetery representative will lead you to the committal shelter at 1:15pm.

Frank Hay always made you laugh when you were around him. His sense of humor was quick witted and vast. He would never say no when asking him to assist with a job or a project. Frank's love of the Lord Jesus was always evident and amazing how he would serve the homeless and preach to various groups. He was truly a loving soul to everyone he knew and anyone he greeted for the first time. He will be fondly remembered by all. Frank will always be in my heart as the coolest loving friend I could ever have in life.
