In Memory of
Gregory A. Ostigin
-

Gregory Anaclet Ostigin of Katy, Texas passed away at the age of 55 after a courageous fight with Pneumonia on October 8, 2021. He was born on January 7, 1966 in Houston, Texas to Elijah Valdez Ostigin and Rose Mary Abad Ostigin.

Greg was a cowboy hard and true. He believed in having a friendly conversation with everyone he met, and he met a LOT of people. Greg owned his own landscape company for over 30 years, and believed that honest hard work is the way to success. He was a former bull rider and rancher with his dad. He was a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Livestock Exhibitor Compliance committee and enjoyed volunteering with various cookoff teams and most importantly, ALWAYS willing to lend a helping hand to anybody. Greg would be the first one to stand out in a crowd, play a joke on you or just have a drink with you. He was a good listener and always there to lend an ear. Greg was a night owl, late night conversations was his thing. Sometimes, he didn’t realize it was so late, but would always get a call back from the person the next day. Greg loved to go camping, fishing, hunting and small town rodeos. Greg, being a former bull rider, never gave up his love for the sport. Traveling to small towns and county fairs to catch a rodeo was one of his true loves. He and his wife Lisa loved to travel in their RV and take the grandkids whenever possible. Greg was a beloved grandfather to five grandchildren, and only granddaughter out of the bunch who he spoiled often. Greg was definitely a family man and loved his family dearly. Everything he did, he kept them in mind. He loved his local sports teams, the Texans and especially the Astros, as he had a truelove for baseball. Greg also had a special bond with animals. Animals, especially our dogs, always favored him. He also knew a lot about healing animals, he just had a gift for it. You never saw Greg without his cowboy hat and would never wear a suit, just a sportscoat with his jeans and boots. That is the way everyone remembers him. He loved to put on his boots and hat and go dancing with his wife Lisa. They were a good team together. Greg would always tip his hat and had a great smile.

Greg is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lisa Charlton Ostigin, of Katy, TX. Son, Cody Elijah Ostigin and his wife Kendall Ostigin. Son, Casey Robert Ostigin and his wife Gabriela Gutierrez. Grandchildren, Joseph Robert Ostigin (8), Noah Alexander Ostigin (4), Mason Alexander Ostigin (3), Everleigh Rose Ostigin (2) and Talon Royce Ostigin (4 mos). Also surviving is Greg’s brother, Elijah A. Ostigin and wife Paula and niece Eliza Ostigin, sister Marina Lynn Ostigin and niece Alexandria Rose Garza all from Houston, TX, and numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins in Navasota and Houston TX.

Gregory was preceded in death by his mother Rose Mary Ostigin and Father Elijah Valdez Ostigin, and brother Robert Alexander Ostigin.
