In Memory of
Malcolm Renwick Taylor
-

Malcolm R. Taylor, affectionately known as "Mac", passed away September 10, 2009 at a local hospital. The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday September 16th at St. John Vianney, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trl, Houston TX 77079. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at the Houston National Cemetery 10410 Veterans Memorial, Houston TX 77038.

Mac will be missed by many friends, family and colleagues of the
grocery business. Mac owned and operated a successful food brokerage
company in the Houston area for over 40 years, touching the lives of many people and their families. He was an instant friend to anyone with whom he came in contact. Mac possessed a big heart and was always helping someone, even from his own resources.

We would like to recognize and thank him for spearheading the Houston
Crackdown, an anti-drug program developed to help school children become
educated in a fun way to resist the negative impact of drugs. In April,
1990, Mac received formal acknowledgement and commendation for his efforts from President George H.W. Bush.

Malcolm, the community and friends will miss you and will see you again in Heaven!

So sorry to hear about uncle Malcom's passing. I have alot of memories from childhood of him sending us the latest candy, like the whole case of Pop Rocks. Glad to have gotten to hang out with him a few times in more recent years, at the reunion in Arkansas and the visits to Maryland with katherine. Wish I could be there to give hugs. Take care
Love
Jane

I think Malcolm was one the best bosses you could ever have. I loved working for him at Hunt & Taylor. I know he will be missed so much by all of his family because he was such a great family man. I don't think in all the time I worked for him he was ever in a bad mood & always had a smile for everyone. What a great man. My heart & prayers go out to his family & this sad time.
Sincerely,
Pat Biondo

Mac was a good, hardworking man, always smiling. I never saw him frown. When they bought the old Lee Love Brokeridge,Mac took me to their "new" offices to show me around. The company cars were high mileage, the office equipement was old, and the typewriters (typewriters!!)didn't work. He laughed it off, and proceeded to build a very good business. I took a life-lesson from that. I will miss him.

I met Mac when I first came to Houston with Procter&Gamble.
We covered pretty much the same area and so met often. When Mac and Bob Hunt left to run their own business P&G lost two excellent managers. Visited with Mac at Bob Hunt's funeral, but never thought Id be attending his. He was a friendly, pleasant guy and made many friends. May he rest in peace and may his family remember all the good things about him. He will be missed.

My friendship with Mac goes back to the Proctor &
Gamble days for Mac and Bob Hunt. I also spent my grocery
career as a food broker, working my way up to owner of my firm just like Mac did! I could always count on Mac for that cheerful smile of his, and his positive attitude. Mac was one of the few people I really enjoyed working with as a friendly broker/competitor.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Warmest personal regards,
Mike K. Williams

My heart aches to hear of Uncle Malcolm's passing. I have so many fond memories from my childhood of Uncle Malcolm & Aunt Ginger and all of the kids. What great times we all had @ the beach house. He always had pop rocks & orange sodas waiting for me when we arrived. I think often of the jeep rides along the beach shore and the long walks looking for shark teeth with he and Aunt Ginger (I still have them in a treasure box after 30+ years) My most precious memory is dancing with Uncle Malcolm at my wedding, when he asked me to dance on his feet like I use to do when I was little. Today, may God's healing hands touch all of us who are mourning the loss of Malcolm, a beautiful uncle, husband, father, grandpaw and friend. He will forever be remembered. May you rest in peace Uncle Malcolm--I love you

Mac, you will never be forgotten as I enjoyed so much working with you and having our discussions and conversations. May you be in Peace with our Lord with no more pain and suffering. You endured so much throughout your life, but always continued to have that big smile and jovial personality. I will always remember you for having the finest qualities a person may have. God Bless your family and may our Lord comfort them in their time of grief and sorrow.

May you Rest in Peace Mac

To all the Houston Taylors,
It is hard to believe that my "baby brother" is gone. I too remember fondly growing up in Shreveport visitng Houston regularly. Malcolm was not too embarrased to be my "brother" and I loved saying that we looked alike. He was so much like our dad. Malcolm and Ginger were so good to my mom, and me and definitely to Daddy. I am glad for those time so long ago and hope that Teri, Mark Doug and I can do better at seeing each other. Catherine, thank you for being such a great wife to Malcolm these last twelve years.
Love to all,
"Aunt Charlotte"
