Moses Babatope Fadiyimu, a kind and caring man who was an epitome of unwavering love and compassion. He passed away on July 1st, 2023, at the age of 65. A quote he would frequently refer to was “Just a Matter Time”. He always believed that things would get better and at every opportunity he would help others and ensured that they felt loved.
He was the son of Pa James Elagbemi and Madam Ayi Ibironke, Babatope was born February 28th, 1958, in Epe Lagos State. He was a fun and loving child who loved playing with his siblings. His father was also a veteran soldier that fought in World War II.
Following the death of his father, Babatope spent his early days with his mom and relatives, the Agbetola family in Ido-Faboro where he completed his primary school education. Later, he relocated to Oshogbo in 1971 to be under the care of his uncle Pa Simeon Peter Oladapo Fadiyimu and his cousin Akinloye. He gained admission into Ipetu-Ijesa Grammar school in 1972 in which he attended with his cousin. During this time, they both
After leaving secondary school he secured appointment with Post and Telecommunications P&T in Abeokuta in 1976 where he joined his elder brother Akinloye Fadiyimu who was then a Grade ll teacher in Abeokuta. Later in 1979 he gained admission into International Agriculture Research and Training Institute IAR&T, Moor plantation Ibadan. Where he earned his Higher National Diploma, HND, in Animal Husbandry.
After relocating to the United States in 1990, he worked for the Criminal Justice Department Houston TX. He enjoyed expanding his knowledge and continuing education throughout his life. He completed his Doctorate degree in Higher Education. Babatope was known for his exceptional work ethic and unwavering determination, he always strived to provide for his family and create a life filled with love and happiness.
While our hearts ache with grief at his departure, we find solace in knowing that he is reunited with his maker and loved ones who have passed before him. We are forever grateful for the immeasurable impact he made on our lives and will carry his memory in our hearts every day.
He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren, cousins, and nephews.
He is preceeded by Pa James Fadiyimu (father), Madam Ayi Ibironke (mother), Sunday Fadiyimu (brother), Suji Johnson (half brother), and Tunde Johnson (half brother).
May you rest in eternal peace, dear father. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Following the death of his father, Babatope spent his early days with his mom and relatives, the Agbetola family in Ido-Faboro where he completed his primary school education. lived as day students for the five-year course trekking from one end of the town at the family home to the other side of town in Araromi where the Grammar school was located. He loved sports and was a very sociable person. During his final two years of the course, he was a player on the school’s football team. It was here that he learned and exhibited qualities that would later shape him into the extraordinary man we know today.
