Samuel Frank Barletta, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at the age of 83.
Sammy was born on October 1, 1942, to Frank Barletta and Rosemary Sicola (Rose) Barletta. He was preceded in death by his Parents and his older Brother, Phillip Vincent Barletta (and wife JoAnn Barletta), and brother-in-law George Musachia.
He is survived by his beloved and caring sister, Virginia (Ginger) Musachia, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who loved him dearly.
Sammy was very proud to have worked for over 20 years and ultimately retiring with the City of Houston/Houston Fire Department. He was a noble and dedicated worker and enjoyed sharing many stories about serving the HFD. The City of Houston provided him opportunities not otherwise available to him.
A man of deep faith with his Bible always near, Sammy loved the Lord and faithfully served his Catholic Church for many years as an Usher. His quiet dedication and welcoming spirit touched many in his Church family, and he was always willing to offer a sincere prayer to any family member or friend that requested one.
Sammy also had a great love and admiration for music and enjoyed playing his guitar. He most appreciated the music of Elvis Presley and George Strait, listening to their CDs for hours on end. He was also an avid Houston sports fan who enjoyed following the Houston Astros, Houston Oilers, and later, the Houston Texans. And he relished the times being able to go Galveston for vacation stays at hotels, or visits to Bayou Vista.
More than anything, Sammy loved his family. He always held a special bond with his mother and appreciated dearly the care, help and love that his faithful sister Ginger was able to offer him for the many years that he needed her. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of music, his strong faith, and his familial ties that always intrigued, and that touched the hearts of those closest to him. The Family would also like to recognize the devoted support of his nephew, Vincent Barletta, whose steady presence and care brought comfort to Sammy's life, as well as the hard work, time and devotion offered by Gigi Lilly, his loving niece, especially for her dedication to his well-being during the toughest of his later days.
Sammy will be deeply missed and forever remembered. May God rest his soul.
