In Memory of
Bohdan Trofymlyuk
-

Bohdan Trofymlyuk, 72, lost his battle with a terminal disease on September 10, 2022 in Houston, Texas. He was born in the Termopyl’ region of Ukraine on November 13, 1949 to Ivan Trofymlyuk and Vera (Ilchuk) Trofymlyuk.

He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Drohobych University with a degree in French.  He became a top tier educator, recognized in the region and nationally, teaching French and geography in a village near Rivne, Ukraine. Being a person of many talents, he spread his passion for photography, art, history, construction, philosophy and travel to his students and people around him. His love for kids and their education made him popular, not only among students, but also his peers who selected him to be promoted to vice-principal and later principal of the same school.

But his strong opposition to communist rule hindered his career. He lived to see his home country become independent and fight against Russian oppressors.

He is survived by his loving wife, Antonina (Koval) Trofymlyuk; their daughter Olga and son-in-law Andre; his grandson Mark; and the rest of his family.
