Inez “Nezzie” Elbel Berlin passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013. She was born in New Braunfels, Texas on July 10, 1928. After receiving a broadcasting degree from the University of Texas, she came to Houston and went to work at radio station KNUZ. It was there she met Paul Berlin. They married
in 1952 and remained married for sixty one years. They had five sons, Brad, Glenn, Bruce, Don, and Craig. Nezzie dedicated her life to her family, husband, sons, daughters in law, and her nine grandchildren. She loved music and was probably her husband’s biggest fan, never missing his radio programs. Displaying a great sense of humor, she was always a welcomed partner for a game of bridge. Nezzie also loved to read and volunteered as a substitute for HISD schools.
