Kathleen A. Slack

Kathleen Armstrong Slack went to be with the Lord on October 28, 2022 in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born on June 26, 1941 in Houston, Texas to Joseph Emmett Armstrong and Mary Elizabeth (Vaughan) Armstrong.

Kathy went to San Jacinto High School in Houston and then attended the University of Houston where she studied music.  She was an accomplished pianist, having studied piano most of her life and teaching piano as well.  Kathy loved sewing, reading, listening to classical music, as well as many other interests.  She was a competitive swimmer in her youth.  She enjoyed watching sports with her family, particularly with her grandsons.  Kathy was always learning and challenging herself and passed along her love of learning to her children and grandchildren.  She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.  She worked tirelessly with her daughters even before they began school in speech, math, reading, and writing.  She loved teaching her daughters, especially with flash cards!  Kathy loved her family fiercely and gave of herself graciously.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Emmett and Mary Elizabeth Armstrong, her brother, Norfleet Edward Armstrong, and husband Donald L. Slack.  Kathy is survived by her daughters, Kathy Ann DeLoach and husband Scott of Conroe, Texas and Becky Kacal and husband Matt of Sugar Land, Texas.  She was a grandmother to Jake, Kellen, and Jordan Kacal; Wesley, Austin (wife Emily), Brayden, and Baylee DeLoach.
