Pamela “Pam” Johnson Day, of Katy, Texas, passed away at the age of 64 after a courageous fight with cancer on May 31, 2021 in Katy, Texas. She was born on December 13, 1956 in San Benito, Texas to Zane and June Johnson.
Pam married the love of her life, Michael “Mike” Day, on August 3, 1974 and graduated from Brownsville High School the following year. Early in their marriage, Mike enlisted in the United States Army and the family moved to Hawaii, where the earliest years of their family life were spent. After a few years in Hawaii, the Day family moved back to Texas and established a home in Katy, Texas. Pam’s
number one priority was always her children, whom she loved with all her heart and always sacrificed all she could to ensure they were happy, healthy – and had plenty of chicken spaghetti and king ranch chicken! Outside of the home, Pam was passionate about equine sports, loving to ride her horses and competing in horse shows. Later in life, Pam followed her passion for showing the love of Christ by going into full time ministry, serving in various roles in the Parkway Fellowship Church children’s ministry, most recently as the Children’s Pastor of Parkway Fellowship North Campus. She loved deeply, was the best of friends, and was always ready to help with a decorating emergency!
Pam is survived by her loving husband, Mike Day; their 3 children, Jared Day and wife Elizabeth, Max Day and wife Marie-Hélène, and Jennifer “Jenny” Jones and husband Chad; 11 grandchildren, Marie Jolie, Ryland, Jackson, Seth, Maverick, Jacob, Wyatt, Maxton, Kennedy, Jace, and Jenna; her parents, Zane and June Johnson; two sisters, Linda Johnson and Brenda Cross; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Al Johnson.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Parkway Fellowship Church at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in her name be made to Still Creek Ranch, https://www.stillcreekranch.org.
