In Memory of
William Homer Mitchell

In Loving Memory of William (Homer) Mitchell,

On Friday, April 10, 2020 William “Homer” Mitchell passed away into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior. He was 78 years old.

Homer was born on April 20, 1941 in Nady, Arkansas to Preston and Mildred Mitchell. He was the eldest of four children. His siblings included: Merlene Hudson, Marvin “Bunky” Mitchell and Melba Kelsey. He is survived by his brother, Bunky Mitchell and sister, Melba Kelsey.

Homer was a strong, passionate, loving, and caring man who loved his family whole heartedly. But, most importantly, he loved and honored God faithfully. He had the heart of his Heavenly Father that extended to everyone he loved and cared about.

Homer was a devoted husband and best friend to the love of his life, Barbara Mitchell for over 60 years. Together, their love created a family of four children: David Mitchell, Brad Mitchell, Steven Mitchell and Angie Mitchell.

Homer had a passion for fishing, hunting, sports, playing dominoes and eating Blue Bell Ice Cream. His greatest joy came from spending time together with all of his family.

He leaves behind numerous loved ones: his wife Barbara; his children, David, Brad and his wife Michelle, Steve, and Angie; his grandchildren, Chuck, Trent, Tori and Cody; his siblings, Marvin (Bucky) and Melba;  three great grandchildren, extended family and numerous nieces and nephews.

Homer was the glue to the family. He will be missed by many, and his memory will forever be cherished by his loving family.

23rd Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd;

I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;

He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul;
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;

for thou art with me.
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

I love you brother more than the universe! God knew what he was doing when he decided you would be my brother. All the advice, direction, and love you gave were a mentor to me showing me how to work hard, love life and put family first. I will miss you dearly. Love you forever, Sister 💖
